Server Room Protection

Server rooms are special rooms is a company which stores valuable data, operates all the computers, communicates to branch office etc. For IT or data centres, server rooms are the heart of the operations. Protecting the servers becomes the prime most requirement for any organisation. Manufactures have specifically designed some systems or modified existing system to be suitable for protecting a server room. These systems are simple, yet effective and they will protect the valuable data with least possible investments.

Gas based supprssion system

FM 200 and Novec 1230 , which are called as clean agents, are the most popular systems used worldwide. They are stored in liquid forms, but converted in gaseous form for the usage. Both these gases target the heat. Removing the excess heat causes the fire to extinguish. Clean agents are stored and discharged via a piping mechanism. Automatic solenoid valve connected to discharge mechanism releases the gas. Specially designed nozzles delivers the gas with specific angles and force. Novec 1230 or FM 200 can extinguish Class A, B and C type of fire. These gases are electrically non conductive and will not short any electronic circuitry or give any thermal shock to delicate electronics.

Installations of these systems is a critical process and our highly trained and experienced team guarantees you of safe and complete installations.

Water leak detection system

Servers rooms operate with dedicated HVAC systems. Air conditioning units are sometimes installed directly inside the server rooms. Where there is AC units, condensation process goes on 24 X 7, out of which is water formation. If not managed properly by the AC unit, water can spilled over and spread inside the server rooms. Usually server rooms have there compartments, above false ceiling space, the room and below false flooring space where critical cabling and electronics are installed. The water from the AC units can damage these systems, hence detecting any leakage of water is very important. Specially designed cables called as water leak detecting cable or WLD cables are laid on the floor. Their electrical properties changes when they come in contact with water, hence sensing a leak by the WLD control panel.

Very early smoke detection system

Usual smoke detectors waits for smoke to come inside the chamber of the spot smoke detectors. This increases the detection time since the process is depended on the air flow, smoke concentration and the type of smoke in the surroundings. But this time of detection can be hazardous for a room like server room or clean rooms where a small fire can also cause huge damages. Very early smoke detection systems or VESDA, as the name suggests detects smoke very early and the system archives this by not waiting for the smoke to come in but forcing the smoke to go the smoke detector chamber. This is achieved by a properly designed piping system which has sampling points located at strategic locations, continuously sucking air from the room and sending to a highly sensitive laser smoke detector which detects very small quantity of smoke particles in the sampled air.

Manufactures have even came up with a modified versions of early smoke detections which can be used for normal rooms or large areas eg. pharmaceutical warehouse, and at minimum costs. These systems are less costly and are adjusted or tuned for the dust and other similar particles in the air to prevent false alarms.

We design and install various types of early smoke detection systems catering to different types of rooms and requirements.

Rodent repellant

Rodent menace is present wherever there cables, specially jelly filled cables, and in a typical building or a server room, these cables are plenty. They attracts rodent no matter how efforts you take to prevent them from entering the building. Hence considering the fact that you cannot stop rodent from entering the building, by using gadget like a rodent repellent makes sure that rodent are at least not entering the server rooms. The devices works on a very simple principle, they make a ultrasonic sounds at regular intervals, which are irritating for rodents and so they avoid coming to this areas.

Gas leak detection for UPS room

UPS rooms uses many batteries, and when batteries are operational, due to various chemical reactions hazardous gases are released. One such gas is hydrogen, which is lighter than air and gets settled in the top section of a room. Since hydrogen is highly explosive gas, one small spark can cause explosion, which is the cause of many UPS room fires. And these explosions are such that they can break walls. Hence detecting presence such gases is very important. We supply industrial grade, ATEX approved gas detectors.
